Area residents have until July 12, 2021 to submit nominations for the 2021 Spirit of Gowanda awards sponsored each year by the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce. There are three awards – business, service, and student recipients, who will be honored at the annual Spirit of Gowanda awards dinner to be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Gowanda Moose Club.
Nomination criteria for the Business award includes leadership in the business community, assistance in increasing or maintaining business in the Gowanda area, a role model for others and their efforts have had an impact on the Gowanda area.
Nomination criteria for the Community Service award includes leadership, dedication and voluntary efforts in community groups or as an individual that have resulted in the betterment of the Gowanda area.
The Excellence in Youth award will be selected by the Gowanda Central School District.
While the Chamber sponsors the award and ceremony, the recipients are nominated by the entire community. To help select the deserving honorees, submit a written nomination to the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce, including the nominees name and whether for business or service category and a listing of their accomplishments, memberships, and or other information. Past recipients not eligible; only written nominations will be considered. Petitions not considered. Nomination forms are available below or on Facebook.
