Legacy Tree at Chang-Hu Park


On Monday, November 12, the tree for the upcoming Christmas In Gowanda tree lighting ceremony was set up at Chang-Hu Park in Gowanda. For the first time this year, it will called the “Legacy Tree” and attendees of the ceremony will be able to place ornaments on the tree in memory of a loved one who has passed. The blank ornaments and markers will be available at the park in advance of the 7 PM ceremony on November 30. Pictured are (from left) helpers Michael Bentley and Alexis Sager along with Gary Patterson (Gowanda-Area Chamber of Commerce). The tree was donated by Dixieland Tree farm of Versailles, NY.

Gowanda’s annual Christmas Parade will follow the ceremony with a fireworks display to cap the evening. Christmas In Gowanda will also feature a full slate of activities on Saturday, Dec. 1. See the FULL EVENT SCHEDULE for complete details.
